Chinese troops have crossed the border, Modi said at a high-level meeting

At a time when the whole world is abuzz with coronavirus or Covid-19, India and China are playing the war drum. Tensions between the two countries have risen sharply in the past few days. Meanwhile, Chinese troops have crossed the LAC in at least four places and entered India's claimed border. In the wake of the situation, Narendra Modi held a high-level emergency meeting on Tuesday (May 26).

The United Kingdom-based BBC has reported that in the last few days, the two countries' armies have been engaged in direct clashes at various places along the Line of Control (LoC) between the two countries.

On the other hand, the Chinese troops have set up bases in a completely new place like Galwan Valley in Ladakh, where there was no history of conflict before. According to a report in the Times of India At least 1,200 to 1,500 members of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) are facing off along the Line (LAC).

Some of the PLA's border defense regiments have moved closer to the LAC, the media reported on Monday. At least 500 troops have been evacuated from the exercise to the region's border.

According to NDTV, another Indian media outlet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation.

Modi held talks with India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, India-China Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

The high-level meeting was also attended by the Chiefs of the Indian Navy, Air Force and Army, NDTV reported. However, details of what was discussed were not disclosed.

According to the BBC, in the last two to three weeks, the Chinese army has crossed the LAC in at least four places. The places are; Pangong So or Pangong Lake in Ladakh, Galwan Nala and Demchak - and Naku La in Sikkim.

Ajay Shukla, an Indian defense analyst, wrote in his blog that this is the first time that China is claiming the entire Galvan Valley as its own. These intros, however, have covered a huge area. Demchak in South Ladakh, hundreds of kilometers from Galwan Valley in northern Ladakh - and Naku La Pass in Sikkim, thousands of kilometers away. Which means it's about to be the most delusional time of the year, as well as the most delusional time of the year, as far as local commanders are concerned.
