Even after losing them, the medical community has not stopped. They are trying their best to cure people from corona virus. As a result of this attempt, 56 health workers, including 26 doctors, have been affected in the Sylhet department since April 8. Of these, 17 are female doctors.

Citing Moulvibazar Civil Surgeon Tuhid Ahmed, Divisional Senior Correspondent Biswajit Bhattacharya Bapon, who works in Srimangal, said 20 patients infected with the corona virus have been identified in the district. One of them is a doctor.

Habiganj Civil Surgeon said. Citing Mukhlesur Rahman Ujjwal, district correspondent Badrul Alam said the coronavirus had started spreading there on April 11 through a driver who came from Narayanganj. At present the number of victims in the district is 6. Among them 23 are nurses and health workers. 6 government officials and employees. The rest are people of different classes and professions.

Citing Sunamganj Civil Surgeon Shams Uddin, District Correspondent Ashikur Rahman Peer said the mass transmission of corona virus started in Sunamganj mainly through people coming from Narayanganj. The health department is trying its best to prevent the infection. Two doctors, one nurse and five other health workers in different upazilas of the district tested positive for corona.

He said that the corona positive people have been infected while going for treatment in one way or another. Especially in Habiganj, 80 percent of the people have been infected through people coming from Dhaka.

According to the Sylhet office of the health department, 18 people have been identified as corona positive so far in the department, including 5 on Monday. Of these, 6 are in Habiganj, 36 in Sunamganj, 35 in Sylhet and 20 in Moulvibazar. Then on Monday night, the hospital doctors got the news of the identification of 16 more intern doctors.

Besides, 243 people including 56 doctors and health workers in Sylhet division have tested positive since April 8. Of these, 99 were identified verbally from the PCR lab in Dhaka against nearly a thousand sample tests, but 21 received e-mail reports. As verbal reports were received from the remaining 6 persons, they were not included as originals. In this account, Dr. Moin Uddin, a child from Habiganj and a man from Moulvibazar died. On the contrary, only one patient from Sunamganj has recovered.

The number of identified patients will increase, said the Department of Health in Sylhet. Anisur Rahman said, "We did not include the verbal accounts from the PCR lab in Dhaka."
