Covid-19: More than 50,000 patients identified in India for 5 consecutive days



India, the third-largest coronavirus outbreak in the world, has identified more than 50,000 Kovid-19 patients for five consecutive days.

The deadly coronavirus was found in the bodies of 52,982 new people in the country in 24 hours till 8 am local time on Monday.

In all, South Asia's largest economy has officially crossed the 1.7 million mark, according to the country's health ministry.

India's Home Minister Amit Shah and the chief ministers of the two states are also being treated in hospitals for the deadly virus, according to a Reuters report.

The death toll from coronavirus in India has also crossed 36,000 with 71 new deaths in one day. Among the dead was a minister from Uttar Pradesh, the country's most populous state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa were admitted to hospital on Sunday after contracting the deadly virus. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was earlier admitted to the hospital.

Despite the rise in infections, India has increased the number of tests to detect Kovid-19 patients several times over and is working to find a cure for the coronavirus.


The Indian Ministry of Health said on Twitter that it had approved the Oxford University and the Serum Institute of India to conduct clinical trials of a possible vaccine for astragenera. This excellent institute in India is the largest vaccine producer in the world in terms of numbers.

Of the 36,135 people killed in Kovid-19 as of Monday, 15,056 died in Maharashtra alone. In this list, Tamil Nadu has risen to second place after Delhi. The death toll in Karnataka and Gujarat is close to two and a half thousand.

Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu also rank first in India in the number of identified patients. Andhra Pradesh, which has identified more than 10,000 patients daily in the last few days, is now in third place. It is followed by Delhi, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Telangana.

In West Bengal, Kovid-19 was identified in the bodies of a record of 2,064 people on Sunday. In all, more than 65,000 people in the state were infected with the deadly virus.

The death toll from coronavirus in West Bengal has risen to 1,006 with 49 new cases in 24 hours, according to a report from Anandabazar.

As of Monday, more than 1.17 million people had returned home healthy in India, according to the country's health ministry. The recovery rate is about 6 percent of the identified patients.
