Neymar banned for two matches

PSG's Brazilian forward Neymar has been banned for two matches by French football authorities.

Neymar clashed with Alvaro Gonzalez in a 1-0 defeat to Marseille in the French Ligue 1 last Saturday. Neymar slapped the Marseille defender on the back of the head. The referee showed him a red card in that incident. This time he got a two-match ban.

The red card means a one-match ban. Neymar could not play in Wednesday night's league match against Metz.

Neymar, however, has accused Alvaro of racism. He complained about this through social media at the end of Saturday's match. Alvaro, however, has denied Neymar's allegations. French football authorities say they are investigating.

Meanwhile, a total of 5 footballers, including Neymar, received red cards in the event. Among them, Kurjawa of PSG has been banned for six matches. Marseille's brother has been banned for three matches. The team's Benedict and PSG's parades have been banned for one match.
