'No Dry' to go to Asia Pacific Screen Awards


The country's first surf film 'No Dry' has been invited to compete in the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards. The first movie produced by Star Cineplex will compete in the 'Fiction Film' category under the name 'Dare Te Surf'.
On June 1, the award authorities confirmed the matter to producer Star Cineplex chairman Mahbub Rahman. This information was given in a notification on Friday (June 05).

The final nomination list of the competition will be published next October. The award will be presented on November 26 in Brisbane, Australia. The best films from 60 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are awarded in this competition.

Expressing happiness at being invited to the international quality competition, producer Mahbub Rahman said, "It is definitely a pleasure for us." ‘No Dry’ is our first movie. I have made the movie with many challenges. We have received a great response from the audience and critics. I would like to share this joy with the audience today. If the movie goes to a respectable place, my country and the audience of the country will share in the glory.

'No Dry' directed by Tanim Rahman Anshu was released in theaters on November 29 last year. This is the first full length Bangla movie in the country made with surfing. It is based on the real life story of a young female surfer from Cox's Bazar. Sunerah bint Kamal has played the lead role. There are also - Saeed Babu, Shariful Raj and many others.
