'Barca will get the best of Messi'

His former teammate Victor Valdes is very happy with Lionel Messi's decision to stay in Barcelona. The former Catalan club goalkeeper believes the Argentine forward will do his best for the team.

In a fax message on August 25, Messi wanted to leave the team on a free transfer. However, Barcelona insisted on a  600 million release clause, citing the expiration of the clause. Later, Messi decided to stay despite his reluctance.

In the long journey together, Barcelona and Messi have become synonymous. But when he wanted to leave the club, questions also arose about his dedication to the team. Valdes recently told Spanish radio RAC One that he himself had suffered a bit. However, the former Barcelona captain thinks that this incident will serve as fuel for Messi.

"It simply came to our notice then. Leo has been with me since he came to the main team. I always had a very good relationship with him. I'm sorry to hear that, because Leo's dedication is not in question, nor is his value or what he represents. "

"It simply came to our notice then. Now I am very happy that Barca is getting him. Hopefully ... he can give Bara the joy they need. "

Valdes, who has won six La Liga and three Champions Leagues, believes Barcelona will have a great season with Messi.

“I think Leo will have a very good season. All the recent events will inspire him and we will see that Leo is doing what he can on the field. Hopefully, the team and club will see the best of Leo. Because it is certain that in every match he can be the determinant of the result. And that is the most important thing. ”
