'Umpun' is getting worse than cider

The super cyclone 'Ampan' formed in the Bay of Bengal is coming towards the coast with more force than the terrible cyclone Sidr. In this case, there is a danger of more terrible violence than that.

The meteorological offices of India and Bangladesh say it will cross the coast from late Tuesday night (May 20) to Wednesday (May 20) afternoon / evening. At this time, the wind speed will decrease in the center of the cyclone and Ampan will take the form of a very strong cyclone. The maximum speed can be from 200 kmph to 230 kmph.

The apparent light pressure created in the Bay of Bengal on 14 May turned into a cyclone Ampan on 16 May and turned into a super cyclone on 16 May. At the center of the super cyclone, the wind speed is more than 220 kilometers. In the center of Ampan which rises up to 265 km. However, it could lose power and hit the coast as a very strong cyclone. At that time the wind speed can exceed 200 kilometers per hour. Which happened exactly 12 years ago during Sidr.

The Meteorological Department's list of historic cyclones shows that the maximum wind speed at the center was 223 km / h when Sidr hit on November 15, 2006. In other words, it hit like a very strong cyclone. That is also being feared in Ampan.

On the other hand, in the case of Ampan, the same areas have come to the fore in the areas where Sidr was hit by its form.

Many villages in Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Barguna, Barisal, Bhola, Patuakhali and Jhalokati districts were razed to the ground by the terrible cider of the commemoration period.

In the case of Ampan, the meteorological office says - Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and their remote islands and chars.

Meteorologist Muhammad Arif Hossain said the area could be inundated by tidal waves five to 10 feet higher than normal.

Sidr did not hit West Bengal or India. But Ampan has that fear. On the other hand, if West Bengal loses power and enters Bangladesh, there is a possibility of less damage.

Indian meteorologist Anand Kumar Das said it would cross the coast at some point between Digha in West Bengal and Hatia Island in Bangladesh by Wednesday (May 20th) evening. At this time the maximum speed will be 180 to 230 km. Then on Thursday the energy will be further lost and turned into depression.

No other storm in Bangladesh has caused so much damage after Sidr. Officially, 908 people died at that time. 6 people are missing.

Then came Aila in May 2009. It was a tornado. There was some damage. And in April 2019, Fani came as a very strong cyclone, but it lost its strength in Orissa and West Bengal and entered Bangladesh. So there was no damage. Bulbul came in November of the same year. That did not have much effect in the country.
